GREENSBORO, N.C. - Virginia cross country coach Jason Dunn was named the Atlantic Coast Conference Men's Cross Country Coach of the Year after leading the Cavaliers to their first ACC title since 1984. Duke's Kevin Jermyn was named the ACC Women's Cross Country Coach of the Year, after the Blue Devils won their second consecutive ACC crown. This was Jermyn's second such honor in two years.
In the men's race, Dunn led the Cavaliers to their second ever ACC cross country title as they recorded 30 points and edged out Florida State University with 38 points. Five Virginia runners placed fourth through eighth respectively and had a total of six runners named to the All-Conference team. This was Dunn's first ACC Men's Cross Country Coach of the Year honor.
On the women's side, Jermyn led the Blue Devils to their second consecutive ACC championship. Duke posted a score of 20 points in the race. The Blue Devils placed six runners in the top ten and were led by 2005 ACC Individual Champion Shannon Rowbury, who covered the 6K course in 19:03.2. Duke placed seven runners on the All-Conference team. This award is the second such honor for Jermyn, who led the Blue Devils to their first ACC championship in school history a year ago.
