The Dr Pepper ACC Championship Road Tour is back on the road for its second-consecutive year! This season-long promotional tour through the footprint of the Atlantic Coast Conference will kickoff at the season opener between Miami and Florida State in Miami, Fla., and wraps up with the Dr Pepper ACC Football Championship Game on December 2nd in Jacksonville, Fla.
The Road Tour will be operated by the Gator Bowl Association and will feature a 40' promotional bus that will make two-day interactive stops at each ACC campus and surrounding area through out the football season. Day One at each school is focused towards the student body, where all students are able to participate in the Dr Pepper ACC Championship Road Tour Challenge. Prizes and giveaways from Dr Pepper will be distributed as students vie for the opportunity to represent their school in the Road Tour Challenge Final in Jacksonville at the Dr Pepper ACC Football Championship Game. At stake is the chance to win a $10,000 scholarship from Dr Pepper.
Day Two at each stop is all about the fans. Fans will feel the excitement of ACC Football as they get a glimpse of action from around the conference on the large-screen plasma screen attached to the side of the Tour Bus. The fans will also be able to try their hand at the Dr Pepper Championship Road Tour Challenge, although no prizes will be awarded. The Road Tour staff will be handing out giveaways as well as plenty of Dr Pepper to those in attendance.
"We feel the Road Tour is a great way to generate enthusiasm and excitement about the championship game to be held here in Jacksonville," explains Rick Catlett, President of the Gator Bowl Association. "Also, we are excited about the opportunities it provides to the students on each campus as well as the fans of ACC football."
