CARY, N.C. - The North Carolina Tar Heels used three second half goals to claim a 4-2 come-from-behind victory over the Duke Blue Devils Friday evening at the SAS Soccer Complex to advance to Sunday's championship final against second-seeded Virginia. The Tar Heels will make their 17th consecutive appearance in the ACC Tournament final in as many years, while it will be the second time that the Tar Heels and Cavaliers will face-off for the title.

North Carolina struck early as Elizabeth Guess registered her second goal of the season in the sixth minute of action. From 14 yards out on the left side, Guess deposited the ball into the back of the net for a 1-0 Tar Heel lead. Jaime Gilbert and Anne Morrell were credited with assists on the play.

Duke would counter in the 19th minute as Casey McCluskey found Carolyn Riggs for the score as the Blue Devils tied the game at 1-1. Riggs beat two defenders and hit the right corner of the goal for her seventh goal of the season.

Less than three minutes later, the Blue Devils would score the go ahead goal as it was Riggs once again for Duke. Carolyn Ford fed the ball into Riggs who one-timed the ball from eight yards out for a 2-1 halftime lead.

It took the Tar Heels just five minutes in the second half to equalize the game at 2-2 as Gilbert used a cross by Morrell to find the back of the net.

The Tar Heel tandem would hook up again in the 56th minute as Morrell found Gilbert streaking down the right side of the field. Gilbert located the right corner of the net from 12 yards out for her second goal of the evening and 11th of the season. On the play, Morrell tied an ACC Tournament single-game record with her third assist of the game. She became the eighth player and second of this year's championship to perform such a feat.

North Carolina added to its lead in the 73rd minute as Guess tallied her second goal of the game off a double assist from Kendall Fletcher and Katie Brooks.
